I went to the National Gallery of Ireland today to view history in person. I really do not believe there are words to describe the feeling I felt looking at the Monet, Picasso, Rembrandt, Cezanne, Renoir, Caravaggio, Goya, Heda, Leech, Poussin, Van Gogh, Vermeer and much more. All of these beautifully preserved artworks are breath taking. Its strange that for the past three years I have studied in extent all of these works and now seeing them in person was fulfilling in a way i can not put into words. It almost brought tears to my eyes at how old these pieces are and where they have been in history. I would like to go again one more time before I leave to get one last look.
Afterwards we strolled through some wonderful parks and I got to see the Oscar Wilde statue scultpted by Osborne. All in all it was a delightful first Monday in Ireland.
Asked someone about what the weather was like in Ireland and he responded "Well, the weather is like a womans' mind. Always changing!" hahah Thought it was just hilarious!
